What can a Modern and Classical Languages, Literatures and Cultures major do for you?

A Bachelor of Arts in Modern and Classical Languages, Literatures and Cultures (MCLLC) is an interdisciplinary undergraduate degree that provides you with the skills necessary to succeed in today’s world. As an MCLLC student at the University of Kentucky, you are able to gain intercultural competence, acquire spoken and written communication skills in diverse languages, and meet and interact with people from all over the world. The MCLLC major currently offers a variety of fields of study including Arabic and Islamic Studies, Classics, Chinese Studies, French and Francophone Studies, German Studies, Japan Studies and Russian Studies. Each language area has a student organization that arranges opportunities for language practice and many cultural events related to the areas of the world we study. After obtaining your MCLLC degree from UK, you can go on to work in many fields including international businesses, organizations and law, as well as education, journalism, and foreign and public services.
